First LEED Gold certificate awarded in the European office furniture industry (October 2011)
On October 24th Spanish office furniture manufacturer Actiu
became the first European company to be awarded the
prestigious LEED EB Gold Certificate for sustainability. It recognises
the innovative design of the factory in the use of alternative energies,
rainwater recycling and selection of materials. |
Design Exhibition in London (September 2011)
The 100% Design exhibition, held at Earls Court, London on 22nd-25th September, had a record number
of visitors. The impressive international line-up of exhibitors included well-known names such as
Vitra, Hitch Mylius and BarberOsgerby by together with many young designers showing products for the
first time. |
New Office Interior for Bike Retailer (August 2011)
August started well for Spectrum Workplace with a 70 workstation order from a well-known online
bike retailer. Included in the scheme was corporate branding and graphics together with the
increasingly popular Archline Bench desking system and Viasit Vivida chairs. |
Overseas order for furniture (July 2011)
Spectrum Workplace rounded off a record month with the securing of an order from a college on the
Isle of Wight for canteen furniture for 220 people. A key factor in winning the order was the
guaranteed project completion before the start of the new academic year. |
Clerkenwell Design Week (May 2011)
The workplace design community held the Clerkenwell Design Week from Tuesday 24th to Thursday
26th May. Amongst the many furniture showrooms included were Vitra, Ahrend, Wilkhahn, Steelcase,
Sedus, Humanscale, Bene, Haworth, Knoll, Girsberger, Lammhults and Brunner to name a few. |
HCC furniture tender win (April 2011)
Spectrum Workplace are delighted to announce that they have been successful in renewing their
contract with Hampshire County Council for the supply of office furniture. The securing of another
3-year contract is even more pleasing when bearing in mind that around 70 companies applied for this
tender. |
Spectrum`s new offices (March 2011)
The expansion of the sales team at Spectrum Workplace has provided an opportunity to re-invigorate
their own office space. The new Archline bench desking provides capacious but unobtrusive cable
management and the minimalist white colour scheme gives an airy, clean feel. The central stand-up
meeting table has proved invaluable for quick team meetings and project briefings. |
